Raising Cane’s was founded in 1996 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, by Todd Graves and Craig Silver. Todd Graves had the initial idea for a chicken finger restaurant while in college and his professor told him the idea would never work. He got the same response from various banks when he tried to apply for a loan.
Today, Raising Cane’s has over 150 locations and it keeps growing. Raising Cane’s is a fine example of a niche restaurant specializing in one specific food. You’re not going to find much else on their menu so if you don’t like chicken fingers, you’re out of luck.
